Arduous But Valueable Points for CoRe Black –

The fifth round of the iRacing Virtual Racing School GT World Championship visited Road Atlanta for a three hours race. CoRe Black was racing with Santeri Kallunki along side Ricardo Castro ledo this time, while CoRe Silver was run by Maxime Pauly and Janne Kiuru once again. The 16th position was the maximum CoRe Black could achieve after the team had to undergo several incidents in this round.

The team was struggling with qualification pace as the CoRe Black line-up was starting from the 22nd position. CoRe Silver had to start from P34. The cold track condition was unfavorable for both line-ups because not much practice in that kind of weather was done. The setup was far from optimal and that reflected on the driving performance of both CoRe SimRacing entries. Ricardo was once taken out by carnage in front after turn three with gave CoRe Black damage. Santeri Kallunki, who basically was convincing in preparation, had to take over. The bright side was his drive to P16 which recovered good points for the team. The CoRe Silver team did not finish. Janne had to analyse : “We had bad luck and we were really slow this time by – maybe me and Maxime would’ve been faster in the race than what we were in the qualy, but still we were so far behind in pace. We knew that we might not be close to the top – but in cold weather we could not show our performance.” The next race of the VRSGTiRWC will take place at Spa-Francorchamps.
